Re: Random crashing/reboting
Hardware faults rarely have any visible damage unless its a capacitor thats gone bust.
9 out of 10 its a fault in the electronic components and the only way you will know is when it starts crashing or artifacting like mad, as it did for you.

This looks like a bad video card. There may not be any outward indication that it is bad. You can try moving it to a different slot if you have one open or a different card if you have one.

Re: Random crashing/reboting
I just ran my comp for about an hour with my on-board slot being used, my video card completely removed, crashed.

Re: Random crashing/reboting
I had similiar issues with radeon type graphics cards. I am not 100% sure what exact model number I had but I know that it was in the mid 4000's. I am currently running a 4800(I think) on my home PC which seems to be working out rather well for me.

Re: Random crashing/reboting
Well if this keeps crashing you are down to CPU or motherboard. Better hope that it does not crash so you can replace the AA RAM as that will be cheaper.

Re: Random crashing/reboting
I hate to say it but you might need to take a hard look at the motherboard if you are sure all of the other components are not the cause.
That said it still looks to me lieka video card issue. Do you know if your computer had any high heat issues before this problem?
If something overheated it could have cause issues with the motherboard.
